Caribou Publishing is the ownership group which operates four AWNA-member weekly newspapers in East Central Alberta (The Community Press, Tofield Mercury, Viking Weekly Review, and Lamont Leader), while publishing two additional publications (The East Central Times  and Beaver County Chronicle). Owner & President Kerry Anderson operates with his son & Vice President Eric Anderson and their Editorial, Production, and Sales staff. The total number of years in operation between the four publications is 236 and counting.

Our group is dedicated to bringing the best local news coverage, opinions, photography, and advertising possible to its local markets. We have a more traditional approach to the weekly newspaper model, and don't believe in bogging the reader down with advertising and "filler" as is so often the case in today's world. Our primary weekly newspapers are among the few remaining in Canada to not sell advertising on the front page, and we intend to keep it this way. With offices in Sedgewick, Killam, Viking, Tofield, and Lamont - we believe in maintaining a strong presence in the rural communities we cover. A great proponent in supporting locally, we give back to the community and work with a number of local groups in a variety of different ways each year. We also publish a number of special pages, sections, and supplements with "community" in mind.
